Testing a game
- Install the game and run it on the headset (Library, then Install). Streaming from a PC doesn't count. Valve's badge and this site only cover standalone play.
- Check the runtime. On the Frame, open the game's Properties and look at the Compatibility tool or the installed build: native Linux ARM64, a Windows build under Proton, or an Android APK. Pick unknown if you can't tell.
- For VR games, turn on SteamVR's assessment overlay: SteamVR Dashboard > Advanced Settings > Developer >
Draw Performance Assessment in Headset
. It shows the average frame time over the last 32 frames and a VERIFIED, PLAYABLE or UNSUPPORTED verdict for resolution and frame rate (Valve's description). - For flat games, the Performance overlay in the Quick Access Menu shows fps. Valve's bar is 30 fps at 1280x720 for 2D games and 72 fps at 1728x1728 for VR.
- Play at least 20 minutes of the actual game, not just the menus.

How reports become statuses
I read each report, then a script checks it against the database schema and merges it in. If two-thirds or more of a game's reports agree, that result becomes its community status. Otherwise it shows Mixed. The newest report date becomes last tested. I don't edit what you wrote. If a report turns out to be wrong, I take it out.
